Missing Gold Bullion Coins Found

Two gold bullion coins have been reunited with their owner a decade after they went missing. The coins were part of an assignment of five rare gold coins being shipped from New York to London, following their purchase in an auction by Stephen Fenton, when they went missing.

After ten years two of the missing coins were identified after they had been put up for auction. One of the coins is a 1902 British Colonial proof trade gold coin and the other is a 20 yen Japanese coin dating back to 1870.Both coins had been registered stolen with the Art Loss register. The register is the world's largest data base for lost or stolen pieces of art work or artifacts.

There has been a significant increase in the number of gold bullion coins and products being put up for auction recently. It has been suggested that that sellers are hoping to cash in on the recent rise of the Gold Price.
